Abstract :  The present paper is aimed to discuss the status of beel fisheries in Assam with special reference to the methods used for the production and its scope in the state through certain measures. The study is based on the investigations done in Kamrup district of Assam on Dipar Beel and Dighali beel. It was found that various indigenous methods are in practice in both the beels.

2d QSAR Modeling Study of ACAT Inhibitors as Potent Anti-Hyperlipidemic Agents

Abstract :  In order to interpret the evidence encrypted by the molecular structure of the compounds, standard physicochemical descriptors centered Quantitative Structure Activity Relationship (QSAR) approach was implemented on a data set of indoline derivatives reported to be acyl-coenzyme A (CoA): cholesterol acyltransferase ACAT inhibitors. Chemo metric models were designed by inserting a battery of statistical techniques in the current study that demonstrate the linear approaches of analysis including multiple linear regression (MLR), partial least square PLS and non-linear method such as artificial neural networks (ANN). The activity contributions of these molecules were analyzed through regression equation and the best QSAR model was created with an excellent correlative and predictive ability. Significant statistical values S = 0.35, F = 60.30, r = 0.92, r2 = 0.85, r2 (CV) = 0.82 of the designed model were obtained using stepwise MLR and a comparable PLS and FFNN model with r2 (CV) = 0.82, 0.88 and 0.86 respectively. The model reveals that inertia moment 1 size, Kier Chiv4 (cluster) index, Kier Chiv6 (ring) index are prerequisite descriptors for determining further promising ACAT antagonist with high and liable potency against the target. The acquired physicochemical properties (electronic, topological, and steric) showed the important structural features required for activity against ACAT. Therefore, these features can be effectively employed for the modeling and screening of active agents as novel ACAT inhibitors.

Abstract :  In this study, we investigate the effects that optical crosstalk has on radio-over-fiber (ROF) wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) networks that make use of quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) subcarrier modulation. Both the bit error rate (BER) and the power penalty are taken into consideration as we analyze the impact of optical crosstalk. OptiSystem, which is simulation software for optical communication, is used in order to check and see if the results are accurate. According to our findings, the presence of crosstalk that is brought on by shortcomings in the components might bring about a decline in the performance of the network. This research sheds light on the significance of reducing optical crosstalk in R-O-F WDM networks, in particular those that make use of QAM subcarrier modulation.

A Study to Demonstrate the Significance of the Ceiling Suspension Shield in Minimizing Scattered dose During Cath Lab Procedures

Abstract :  To study the efficacy of the ceiling suspension shield and its importance in the Cath-lab, to minimize the scattered dose to the cardiologist and other personnel involved in Cardiac interventional procedures. The scattered air kerma rate was measured from Siemens Artis dFC/dFA Cath-lab unit using a RaySafe X2 survey sensor and Rw3 slabs Phantom. The scattered dose at the cardiologist's side with various CSS positions was measured. The data was collected using RaySafe view software and evaluated. The reading from different projections with and without CSS and with different angles of CSS was compared. The results show that the scattered dose for AP projection without CSS, with normal position and customized position of CSS was 1.281, 1.069, and 0.934 μSv/min respectively. The dose was reduced by 27% when CSS was placed in an oblique position with the phantom. Similarly, all other commonly used projections with different CSS positions are evaluated for better dose reduction. This study clearly shows that the customized CSS positions helped the reduction of scattered dose by 50% of the open exposure. So we need to take care of the position of CSS according to each view like RAO - CRA, RAO-CAU, LAO-CRA, etc. All these measurements demonstrate that the best strategy to reduce the dosage to the cardiologist and other employees is to keep the CSS in a covered position with flat panel detector during the entire procedure.
